Spreading and popularising hydroponics at UFSCar: Interaction with primary schools

The diffusion of knowledge generated in Brazilian Universities to elementary and high schools in the public high school system represents a promising step in the popularisation of science since schools are becoming more accessible to the general population, thereby allowing knowledge to reach the population, especially when interdisciplinary themes such as hydroponic cultivation are addressed. Often, technology generated at the Universities ends up being restricted to the direct use and benefit of higher education students and researchers themselves, without concerns about popularising such knowledge. Given this scenario, the aim of this proposal is to promote the diffusion and popularisation of science using hydroponic techniques as a tool.
